Jetty
Jetty- A stretch of land, or riverbank, made to protect the harbor.
It is made out of coastline. They usually are built in pairs at the end
of a river channel. They are made for directing currents and keeping the
water in between the two jetties, deep. Some negative side effects that could be caused due to jetties are impermeable groynes. This means that sand on the side that the long shore drift is coming at, will cause the sand to build up against it in a triangular formation. This effect will continually happen.
